OUR ETHOS
Rooted in our relationship with the planet and its inhabitants, Wabi Tea operates consciously [albeit imperfectly]. Everything is intentional. Everything is considered.
CONSCIOUS BUSINESS [THE WABI WAY]
We are committed to a healthier business ecosystem, cultivating care and consideration for humanity and our environment. Eco-friendly practices are a forethought [not a secondary addition] and are paramount in our daily functions. We’re embedded in our South Coast NSW community, but approach it with an expansive view too — we make global connections, we foster relationships, and we encourage a more conscious way of living.
Our intention is to support the health and wellbeing of our beautiful community and tea enthusiasts from further afield. One sip at a time [with pure, untainted, certified organic green teas].
CONNECTION TO NATURE
At Wabi Tea, we don’t subscribe to cutting corners. Our matcha and green tea products are organic all the way [JAS certified, ceremonial grade and single origin]. Tea grown without the use of chemical fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides means healthy soil, healthy plants and healthy people.
We offer matcha tea that is stone ground to order, equating to zero waste consumption and a fresher, more vibrant and flavourful product at home. And post-brewed loose leaf green tea returns to the ground, benefitting the compost and garden soil. This is the cycle that drives the Wabi Way.
PARTNERSHIPS
We partner with small-scale, family-run tea farms in Uji, Japan, a region renowned for high-quality green tea production. Our producers are like-minded in their ways: dedicated to farming ceremonial grade matcha, producing extraordinary teas and adhering to Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS) certified organic farming methods and practices.
Locally, our brand partners and wholesalers are carefully selected for their alignment. We share this vision, and together, we make way for intentional, balanced living.
PACKAGING
Core to our conscious ways are our biophotonic jars. Crafted from an ancient form of violet glass, this solution offers permanence and protection – designed for reuse, prolonging the precious ‘life force’ of the organic matcha powder within via its natural light filtration. Foil refill bags lessen our impact and reframe the jar as a beautiful object to hold, admire and facilitate the modern ritual.
All other packaging, including labels, are biodegradable and recyclable. Each of our artisanal teaware products is designed to last.
