Wabi Tea

Limited Edition - Organic Gyokuro Loose Leaf Green Tea

Our limited edition Organic Gyokuro is grown by two passionate tea farmers [brothers] dedicated to regenerative tea farming principles, on the southern tip of Kyushu Island, in the Kagoshima prefecture, Japan. The rich volcanic soil of the region is highly fertile, creating ideal conditions for nutrient-dense teas, with a complex range of flavours. Made with one of Japan’s most sought after cultivars for its delicate sweet notes and deep umami, the tea is shaded for twenty days prior to harvesting, which increases the production of L-theanine amino acids in the plant, expanding the health profile of the tea. Harvested only once a year in Spring, this tea is flown direct from their family-run tea farm in small batches to preserve and honour its truly premium nature.

Best served in the morning or early afternoon. Pairs well with a 10 min meditation or alongside a sweet or savoury bite. Tone setter for deep thinking, awareness and alignment with your true nature. The art of daily practice explained.

Mental clarity + focus
High concentrations of naturally occurring amino acid, L-theanine promotes a calm mind and enhanced focus.

Sustainable energy minus the crash
A unique combination of L-theanine and caffeine in matcha provides a gentle sustained energy without feeling wired or jittery, aiding in reduction of stress and anxiety.

Natural detoxification
An abundance of chlorophyll in matcha helps flush harmful toxins from the system, supports liver function, boosts metabolism and enhances fat breakdown in the body.

Immunity + digestive health
Packed with powerful antioxidants [polyphenols called catechins], specifically EGCG's [epigallocatechin gallate], that combat oxidative stress, reduce cellular damage and inflammation, build immunity and promote a healthy gut microbiome.

Cognitive function + brain health
The potent polyphenols in matcha green tea have been found to help protect brain cells from free radical damage and reduce the formation of beta-amyloid plaques, associated with conditions of cognitive decline.

The high bioavailability of the polyphenols and daily consumption of green tea has been linked to anti-aging effects and longevity due to potent antioxidant properties that combat free radicals and oxidative stress, which are major contributors to cellular damage and aging. By reducing oxidative stress, green tea may help protect cells and DNA from premature aging. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory effects of polyphenols may contribute to overall health and the potential to extend lifespan.
